ARCADIA, Calif. (Jan. 28, 2014) – Led by champion 3-year-old filly Doinghardtimeagain, Tommy Town Thoroughbreds is the champion breeder of California-foaled thoroughbreds by earnings for the second consecutive year.
The award will be presented at the California Thoroughbred Breeders Association’s Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner, to be held Feb. 10 at the Claremont Hotel Club & Spa in Berkeley.
Tommy Town Thoroughbreds finished with foal earnings of $3,089,448. Doinghardtimeagain, a homebred daughter of Tommy Town stallion Ministers Wild Cat, contributed the biggest chunk of that total, $388,240, including a win in the Grade II Hollywood Oaks.
Tommy Town Thoroughbreds finished first in earnings in 2012 with $2,561,735, also led by Doinghardtimeagain with $198,500. Tommy Town Thoroughbreds also was the California champion breeder in 2009.
