ARCADIA, Calif. (Sept. 23, 2015) – Grade I winner Warren’s Veneda is one of four California-breds taking on champion Beholder in Saturday’s $300,000 Zenyatta Stakes for fillies and mares at Santa Anita.
Warren’s Veneda is by Affirmative, out of the Flying Continental mare More Cal Bread, was bred by owner Benjamin Warren and is trained by Craig Lewis. She has eight wins in 26 starts, earnings of $931,612 and is coming off a third in the Aug. 1 Clement L. Hirsch.
My Monet is by Decarchy, out of the Lord Avie mare Madam, was bred by Ridgeley Farm, is owned by KM Racing Enterprises and trained by Ricky Agarie. She has five wins in 17 starts, earnings of $260,838 and is coming off a second in the Sept. 2 Tranquility Lake.
Big Book is by Mr. Big, out of the Holy Bull mare Novel Twist, was bred by owner George Krikorian and is trained by Tim Yakteen. She has two wins in four starts, earnings of $88,400 and is coming off a second in the Aug. 30 Torrey Pines.
Wild in the Saddle is by Silic, out of the Wild Deputy mare Local Law, was bred by Dinesh Maniar, is owned by Nadine Anderson and Cheyenne Ortiz and is trained by Richard Baltas. She has nine wins in 37 starts, earnings of $360,968 and is coming off a win in the Sept. 2 Tranquility Lake.
