ALBANY, Calif. (Nov. 29, 2023) – Stakes winner Wild Jewels is one of four California-breds entered in Saturday’s $75,000 Gold Rush Stakes for 2-year-olds at Golden Gate.
Immelmann is by Take Charge Indy, out of the Dandy Man mare Berryessa, was bred by owners Perry and Denise Martin and is trained by Jesus Nunez. He has one win in six starts, earnings of $57,080 and is coming off a Nov. 17 maiden win.
It Aint Over is by Far From Over, out of the Tribal Rule mare Oh The Joy, was bred by Dr. & Mrs. William Gray, is owned by Gray Farms and trained by Felix Rondan. He has two wins in four starts, earnings of $28,580 and is coming off back-to-back wins.
Wild Jewels is by Tamarando, out of the Distorted Humor mare Ribbon of Jewels, was bred by owners Mr. & Mrs. Larry Williams and is trained by Steven Specht. He has three wins in five starts, earnings of $103,810 and is coming off a win in the Nov. 11 Golden Nugget.
Sushi Sticks is a filly by Karakontie, out of the Tapit mare Renewed Energy, was bred by Richard Barton Enterprises, is owned by Repole Stable and trained by Michael McCarthy. She has one win in two starts, earnings of $49,700 and is coming off a ninth in the Oct. 8 Surfer Girl.
