ARCADIA, Calif. (Jan. 27, 2025) – California Thoroughbred Breeders Association Winter Mixed Sale graduate Valentine’s Candy takes on a trio of Bob Baffert trainees and a graded stakes-winning Wesley Ward invader in Saturday’s $200,000 Grade III Robert B. Lewis Stakes for 3-year-olds at Santa Anita.
Valentine’s Candy is by Danzing Candy, out of the Harlan’s Holiday mare Ancient Holiday, was bred by Rancho San Miguel, is owned by Dale Brewer and trained by Jesus Mendoza.
In nine starts, the $10,000 purchase at the Winter Mixed Sale has one maiden-claiming win, earnings of $30,640 and is coming off an eighth in the Dec. 15 King Glorious Stakes.
