Mirahmadi Released from Hospital

NEPTUNE CITY, N.J. — Monmouth Park race-caller Frank Mirahmadi was released from the Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune City, N.J., on Monday, a week after undergoing colon surgery.

Mirahmadi, 48, will continue his recovery at his New Jersey residence. It has not been determined when Mirahmadi will return to the Monmouth announcer’s booth, but he is eager to do so.

Angelo Chinnici, the medical director at Monmouth who convinced Mirahmadi to go to the hospital and then was instrumental in getting him admitted, was already devising a plan last Saturday on how to get Mirahmadi to the press box without draining his energy.

When asked by text whether he would return this weekend, Mirahmadi responded, “It’s like an inquiry. Picture the numbers on the board flashing. I know I can do it but will defer to the decision of doctors.”
