DEL MAR, Calif. (Aug. 21, 2016) – Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Touched by Autism and fellow California-bred Taman Guard are entered in Friday’s $100,000 Shared Belief Stakes for 3-year-olds at Del Mar.
Taman Guard is by Midnight Lute, out of the Deputy Minister mare Bellastrega, was bred by John Perrotta and E. Mercaldo, is owned by Jungle Racing, KMN Racing or LNJ Foxwoods and is trained by Jerry Hollendorfer. He has two wins in four starts, earnings of $87,660 and is coming off a fourth in the July 27 Real Good Deal.
Touched by Autism is by Sierra Sunset, out of the Beau Genius mare Beau’s Gem, was bred by George and Mary Clare Schmitt, is owned by Johnny Toboada and trained by Marcia Stortz. The $2,700 purchase at the Northern California Yearling Sale has three wins in nine starts, earnings of $118,281 and is coming off a third in the Apr. 30 California Chrome.
