ARCADIA, Calif. (Jan. 26, 2013) – Odds-on favorite Tiz Flirtatious rallied powerfully through the stretch to win Saturday’s $100,000 Valentine Dancer Stakes for California-bred fillies and mares on the Sunshine Millions card at Santa Anita.
Tiz Flirtatious is by Tizbud, out of the Victory Gallop mare Masquerade Belle, was bred by owner Pamela Ziebarth, trained by Martin Jones and ridden by Rafael Bejarano.
She’s never been off the board with five wins in eight starts, earnings of $334,800 and was coming off a second in the Dec. 30 Robert J. Frankel.
“She’s a pretty special mare,” said Jones. “It seems whatever we ask her to do, she does it. She’s really nice.”
The California Cup Distaff winner ran the mile on a good turf in 1:35.17 at odds of 4-5 and won by two lengths over Dancingtothestars, with Toomanytomatoes third in the field of seven.
