CYPRESS, Calif. (Sept. 11, 2014) – Multiple stakes winner Wake Up Nick risks his unbeaten record and takes on Northern California Yearling Sale topper Rowdy Dylan in Sunday’s $100,000 Barretts Juvenile for 2-year-olds at Los Alamitos.
Wake Up Nick is by Cindago, out of the Lion Hearted mare Storm Hearted, was bred by Lee and Susan Searing, is owned by Reddam Racing and trained by Doug O’Neill. He has won all four starts with earnings of $251,100.
Rowdy Dylan is a Kentucky-bred by Sky Mesa, out of the Broken Vow mare Serious Vow and is coming off a maiden win in his second start with earnings of $36,400. The colt sold for $60,000 at last year’s Northern California Yearling Sale to Del Playa Bloodstock, then was re-sold for $280,000 at Barretts March Select 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale.
Doc Charney is by Atticus, out of the Monarchos mare Unbridled Penny, was bred by Jerry Fialkowski, is owned by Laura Bailey and trained by Dominic Fama. He is a maiden making his second start with earnings of $250.
Top Drawer is by Benchmark, out of the Western Fame mare Kelly’s Princess, was bred by Sebold Racing, is owned by Michael Ryan and trained by Adam Kitchingman. He won his lone start Aug. 23 with earnings of $22,800.
Peradventure is by Papa Clem, out of the Boundary mare Holiday Sale, was bred by Jack and Barbara Hatch Revocable Living Trust, is owned by CTR Stables and trained by Scott Rollins. He has one win in three starts, earnings of $49,600 and is coming off a fifth in the July 30 Graduation Stakes.
Matty’s Tribal is by Tribal Rule, out of the Lit de Justice mare Gambler’s Justice, was bred by Halo Farms and Martin Mueller, is owned by Halo Farms, Jame Glavin, Mueller and Jimmy Yanez and is trained by John Sadler. He is a maiden making his third start with earnings of $9,000.
