PLEASANTON, Calif. (Apr. 16, 2021) — The Alameda County Fair in Pleasanton, Calif., confirmed Wednesday it will run its meet this summer as scheduled.

In a letter to horsemen, Jerome Hoban, the fair’s CEO, said the fair “fully intends” to conduct its meet beginning on June 18. The meet is scheduled to run through July 11.

Hoban said in the letter he is hopeful the track will be able to admit fans. Golden Gate Fields began allowing a limited number of fans on April 16.

The fairgrounds is the site of COVID vaccinations and food distribution, and the actual fair is tentatively being scheduled to run in October, Hoban said.
