ARCADIA, Calif. (Dec. 23, 2019) – California-bred graded winners Apache Princess and Mucho Unusual are entered in Saturday’s $300,000 Grade I American Oaks for 3-year-old fillies at Santa Anita.
Apache Princess is by Unusual Heat, out of the Indian Charlie mare Puskita, was bred by owner KMN Racing and is trained by J.K. Desormeaux. She has three wins in 14 starts, earnings of $286,162 and is coming off a second in the Dec. 14 Bear Fan.
Mucho Unusual is by Mucho Macho Man, out of the Unusual Heat mare Not Unusual, was bred by owner George Krikorian and is trained by Tim Yakteen. She has four wins in 10 starts, earnings of $385,382 and is coming off a ninth in the Dec. 1 Matriarch.
