(Aug. 2, 2021) – Thursday’s $100,000 California Thoroughbred Breeders Association Stakes for Golden State Series 2-year-old fillies at Del Mar has attracted four daughters of stallion Stanford, as well as stakes winner At the Spa, who is also entered in Friday’s Grade II Sorrento Stakes.
Madiha is by Shaman Ghost, out of the Great Notion mare Very Few Details, was bred by Terry Lovingier, is owned by Lovinger, Madiha or Navarro and is trained by Walther Solis. She is a maiden making her second start.
At the Spa is by Outwork, out of the Smoke Glacken mare Spa Creek, was bred by Terry Lovingier, is owned by Lovingier, Beckerle or Carrillo and is trained by Jorge Periban. She has won both career starts with earnings of $107,580. She won the Fasig-Tipton Debutante Stakes.
Lion’s Lair is by Stanford, out of the Lion Heart mare Lisa’s Lion, was bred by owner Moger Inc. or Erikson and is trained by Ed Moger Jr. She has one win in two starts, earnings of $28,080 and is coming off a June 18 maiden win.
