Baja Sur Heads South to Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (Oct. 2, 2019) – Baja Sur risks his unbeaten record in Saturday’s $100,000 Harris Farms Stakes for Golden State Series eligible at Fresno.

Baja Sur is a Washington-bred by California stallion Smiling Tiger, out of the Supremo mare Premo Copy, was bred by John Roche, is owned by John & Janene Maryanski or Gerald Schneider and is trained by Blaine Wright. He has won all four races with earnings of 87,450 and is coming off three consecutive stakes wins.

Fashionably Fast is by Lucky Pulpit, out of the Foresty mare Fall Fashion, was bred by Harris Farms, is owned by Harris Farms, Per Antonsen & John Nicoletti. He has three wins in 12 starts, earnings of $185,745 and is coming off consecutive optional claiming wins.

Summersimage is by Slew’s Tiznow, out of the Siberian Summer mare Summer Swimmer, was bred by owner William Hedrick and is trained by Ricardo Perez. He has seven wins in 21 starts, earnings of $241,539 and is coming off a third in a Sept. 22 allowance. He was eighth in this race in 2018.

Touching Rainbows is by Aragorn, out of the Gold Case mare Violin Case, was bred by Esembee Inc., is owned by Slam Dunk Racing, KM Racing or Madaket Stables and is trained by Phil D’Amato. He has seven wins in 19 starts, earnings of $375,733 and is making his first start since a seventh in the Mar. 30 San Carlos.

Northern California Yearling Sale graduate My Friend Emma is by Tannersmyman, out of the Artax mare Ma Ka Bet, was bred by Jim Eaton, is owned by Candelario Barragan or Jocelyn Robles and is trained by J. Ramos. The $1,000 purchase at the Northern California Yearling Sale has eight wins in 24 starts, earnings of $282,061 and is coming off a second in a Sept. 22 allowance.
