DEL MAR, Calif. (May 16, 2017) — Fifteen horses breezed an eighth of a mile in 10 1/5 seconds on Monday during the under-tack show for the Barretts May sale of 2-year-olds in training to create a logjam at the top for the fastest time.
The horses breezed over the main track at Del Mar. Following are those 15 juveniles.
• Hip 22, a Shackleford colt out of the stakes-winning Walter Willy mare Miss Nicolie, whose seven winners include stakes winner Repo, who is the dam of Grade 3-placed stakes winner Ann Arbor Eddie. Argentine champion Mach Glory and Grade 3 winner Remote Ruler are in the California-bred’s extended family. McCarthy Bloodstock consigns the colt as agent.
• Hip 26, an Unusual Heat filly who is the first foal out of the winning Redattore mare Patriot C H. The California-bred is from the family of Grade 1 winner Cacoethes and Grade 3 winner Lucky J.H. McCarthy Bloodstock consigns as agent.
• Hip 29, a Baryshnikov filly out of the stakes-winning Vision and Verse mare Pinata. Bred in Idaho, the filly is from the family of Grade 2 winner Guadery. Havens Bloodstock Agency consigns the filly as agent.
• Hip 31, a Lucky Pulpit colt out of the stakes-placed Restless Con mare Restless Appeal, whose five winners include Grade 1-placed stakes winner Charming Colleen and stakes winner Restless Youth. The California-bred’s extended family includes Panamanian Group 2-placed Brigadier Tom and Grade 3-placed All Hands On Deck. He is consigned by Havens Bloodstock Agency as agent.
