Bella Luma Tries Burbank Handicap Again

SANTA ROSA, Calif. (July 31, 2019) – Stakes winner Bella Luma and fellow California-breds Charming Starlet and Cherlynn are entered in Saturday’s $50,000 Luther Burbank Handicap for fillies and mares at Santa Rosa.

Stakes winner Bella Luma is by Ministers Wild Cat, out of the Bold Badgett mare Bold Roberta, was bred by Thomas Bachman, is owned by Fairview or Linda Brown and is trained by Ed Moger Jr. She has five wins in 24 starts, earnings of $198,374 and is coming off a fourth in the June 22 Dream of Summer. She was sixth in this race last year.

Charming Starlet is by Roi Charmant, out of the Skywalker mare Starlet Sky, was bred by B&B Zietz, is owned by Norman Tavares and trained by Victor Trujillo. She has nine wins in 50 starts, earnings of $310,673 and is coming off consecutive claiming wins. She was fifth in this race in 2017.

Cherlynn is by Itsmyluckyday, out of the El Corredor mare Mona Quita, was bred by Jack Hatch and is owned by trainer Sherrie Monroe. She has three wins in 11 starts, earnings of $47,615 and is coming off a third in a June 28 optional claimer.
