DEL MAR, Calif. (Aug. 16, 2023) – California-bred stakes winners Big Pond and Absolutely Zero are entered in Saturday’s $300,000 Grade I Del Mar Oaks for 3-year-old fillies.
Big Pond is by Mr. Big, out of the Lemon Drop Kid mare Beside Still Water, was bred by owner George Krikorian and is trained by Tim Yakteen, She has won both starts with earnings of $136,350 and is coming off a win in the July 27 Fleet Treat Stakes.
Absolutely Zero is by Nyquist, out of the Square Eddie mare How About Zero, was bred by owner Reddam Racing and is trained by Doug O’Neill. She has two wins in five starts, earnings of $119,260 and is coming off a sixth in the July 27 Fleet Treat Stakes.
