Cal-bred Day at Golden Gate June 8

ALBANY, Calif. (May 11, 2014) — California-bred day at Golden Gate Fields will be held Sunday, June 8.

The nine-race card will include a pair of $100,000 stakes restricted to Golden State Series eligibles and a pair of maiden special weight races restricted to California-bred and sired runners.

The $100,000 Campanile Stakes is for Golden State Series eligible 3-year-old fillies. Nominations close May 29. Last year’s edition was won by Unusual Way.

The $100,000 Silky Sullivan Stakes is for Golden State Series eligible 3-year-olds. Nominations close May 29. Last year’s edition was won by Surfcup.

Both stakes races are to be run at one mile on turf.

Also on the card will be two Cal-bred maiden races that qualify for the Maiden Bonus Program: one at 5 ½ furlongs for 3-year-old fillies, one at six furlongs for 3-year-olds.
