DEL MAR, Calif. (Sept. 1, 2021) – California-breds None Above the Law, Hockey Dad and Jimmy Blue Jeans are entered in Saturday’s $250,000 Grade II Del Mar Derby for 3-year-olds, presented by Caesars Sportsbook at Del Mar.
None Above the Law is by Karakontie, out of the Northern Afleet mare Legally Blanca, was bred by J. Kirk and Judy Robison, is owned by Downstream Racing and trained by Peter Miller. He has five wins in 14 starts, earnings of $304,060 and is coming off a win in the July 30 Real Good Deal.
Hockey Dad is by Nyquist, out of the Yankee Victor mare Ann Summers Gold, was bred by owner Reddam Racing and is trained by Doug O’Neill. He has three wins in eight starts, earnings of $158,140 and is coming off a second in an Aug. 12 optional claimer.
Jimmy Blue Jeans is by James Street, out of the Marino Marini mare Blue Blizzard, was bred by Perry Bruno and John Gezon, is owned by Bruno, Gezon and Robert Jones and is trained by Andy Mathis. He has four wins in seven starts, earnings of $199,806 and is coming off three consecutive wins, including the Snow Chief Stakes.
