Cal-bred Pair Enters Surfer Girl Stakes

ARCADIA, Calif. (Oct. 5, 2023) – California-breds Putt for Dough and Sushi Sticks are entered in Sunday’s $200,000 Grade III Surfer Girl Stakes for 2-year-old fillies at Santa Anita.

Putt for Dough is by Nyquist, out of the Distorted Humor mare Almost Guilty, was bred by owner Reddam Racing and trained by Antonio Garcia. She has one win in three starts, earnings of $61,700 and is coming off a fifth in the Sept. 4 Generous Portion.

Sushi Sticks is by Karakontie, out of the Tapit mare Renewed Energy, was bred by Richard Barton Enterprises, is owned by Repole Stable and trained by Michael McCarthy. She won her lone start Aug. 25 with earnings of $49,200.
