ARCADIA, Calif. (Jan. 8, 2014) — California-breds Spud Spivens and Rousing Sermon are entered in Saturday’s $200,000 Grade II San Pasqual Stakes at Santa Anita.
Spud Spivens is by Tizbud, out of the Cutlass Reality mare Oceans Reality, was bred by Harris Farms, is owned by Vincent and Audrey Marchionno and Henry Moreno and trained by Henry Moreno. He has four wins in 24 starts, earnings of $269,044 and is making his first start since a fourth in the July 7, 2012 Hollywood Gold Cup.
Rousing Sermon is by Lucky Pulpit, out of the Awesome Again mare Rousing Again, was bred by owners Mr. and Mrs. Larry Williams and is trained by Jerry Hollendorfer. He has five wins in 24 starts, earnings of $705,842 and is coming off a third in the Dec. 14 Native Diver.
