GRAND PRAIRIE, Tex. (Apr. 22, 2019) – Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Minister of Soul and fellow California-bred King Abner are entered in Sunday’s $300,000 Grade III Steve Sexton Mile Stakes at Lone Star Park.
Multiple stakes winner Minister of Soul is by Ministers Wild Cat, out of the Bernstein mare Sensitive Soul, was bred by Dahlberg Farms and is owned by trainer Esteban Martinez. The $16,000 purchase at the Northern California Yearling Sale has six wins in 13 starts, earnings of $154,203 and is coming off a fourth in the Mar. 31 Sensational Star.
King Abner is by Hansen, out of the Salt Lake mare Margarita Salt, was bred by Golden Eagle Farm, is owned by Little Red Feather Racing Stable, Summit Racing, Ticket to Ride and Jackie Rojas and is trained by Phil D’Amato. He has five wins in 17 starts, earnings of $216,645 and is coming off a second in the Mar. 3 Tiznow.
