Cal-bred Quartet in Dream of Summer

ARCADIA, Calif. (June 17, 2019) – A compact field of four, including stakes winner Bella Luma, is entered in Saturday’s $100,000 Dream of Summer Stakes for Golden State Series eligible fillies and mares at Santa Anita.

Bella Luma is by Ministers Wild Cat, out of the Bold Badgett mare Bold Roberta, was bred by Thomas Backman, is owned by Fairview or Linda Brown and trained by Brian Koriner. She has five wins in 23 starts, earnings of $192,374 and is coming off a seventh in the May 12 Fran’s Valentine.

Starr of Quality is by First Dude, out of the Gone West mare Gator Blitz, was bred by Donald Dizney, is owned by Acker or Lindo and is trained by Bill Spawr. She has five wins in 22 starts, earnings of $230,659 and is coming off a sixth in the Apr. 27 Santa Margarita.

Sapphire Kid is by Richard’s Kid, out of the Bernstein mare Sensitive Soul, was bred by Dahlberg Farms, is owned by Lucas Downs or McGoldrick and trained by Matthew Chew. She has three wins in 21 starts, earnings of $132,804 and is coming off a fourth in a May 31 optional claimer.

Coco Kisses is by Empire Way, out of the Awesome Gambler mare River Kiss, was bred by Terry Lovingier, is owned by Brown, Brown or Lovingier and is trained by Jeff Bonde. She has two wins in 15 starts, earnings of $149,098 and is coming off a fifth in a May 11 optional claimer.
