Cal-bred Quartet in Oakland Stakes

                ALBANY, Calif. (Nov. 16, 2016) – A quartet of California-breds is entered in Saturday’s $50,000 Oakland Stakes at Golden Gate.

                Mah Gellin is by Skimming, out of the Maheras mare Mahrin, was bred by Racing Edge Inc., is owned by Joe & Lola Sample and trained by Blaine Wright. He has seven wins in 25 starts, earnings of $230,940 and is coming off a fifth in an Oct. 29 allowance.

                Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Touched by Autism is by Sierra Sunset, out of the Beau Genius mare Beau’s Gem, was bred by George and Mary Clare Schmitt, is owned by Johnny Toboada and trained by Marcia Stortz. The $2,700 Northern California Yearling Sale purchase has three wins in 13 starts, earnings of $125,048 and is coming off a fifth in a Nov. 3 optional claimer.

                Spirit Rules is by Tribal Rule, out of the Danzatore mare Heavenly Lady, was bred by John and Allegra Ernst, is owned by Grant Alvernaz or Steve Ribeiro and trained by Tim McCanna. He has nine wins in 29 starts, earnings of $510,769 and is coming off consecutive claiming wins.

                Marino’s Wild Cat is by Marino Marini, out of the Dayjur mare Faxene, was bred by Roy Guinnane, is owned by G C C I and trained by Cliff De Lima. He has eight wins in 20 starts, earnings of $284,556 and is coming off a fourth in an Oct. 29 allowance. He was second in this race in 2014.
