Cal-bred Tandem Seeks Derby Points

ARCADIA, Calif. (Mar. 3, 2021) – Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Govenor’s Party and fellow California-bred None Above the Law test their Derby credentials in Saturday’s $300,000 Grade II San Felipe Stakes for 3-year-olds at Santa Anita.

None Above the Law is by Karakontie, out of the Northern Afleet mare Legally Blanca, was bred by owners J. Kirk and Judy Robison and is trained by Peter Miller. He has one win in five starts, earnings of $61,300 and is coming off a second in the Jan. 16 California Cup Derby.

Govenor’s Party is by Governor Charlie, out of the Zensational mare Spring Moon, was bred by Terry Lovingier and is owned by trainer Daniel Franko. The $1,500 purchase at the Northern California Yearling Sale has two wins in seven starts, earnings of $45,670 and is coming off a third in the Feb. 13 El Camino Real Derby.
