Cal-bred Trio in Miss America Stakes

ALBANY, Calif. (Dec. 8, 2023) – California-breds Councilwoman Jilly, Bold Daughter and Callhercontessa are entered in Sunday’s $50,000 Miss America Stakes for fillies and mares at Golden Gate.

Councilwoman Jilly is by Roi Charmant, out of the Skywalker mare Starlet Sky, was bred by Cassie and Keenan Freeman, is owned by Sido Racing Partners and Cassie and Keenan Freeman and is trained by Simon Hobson. She has four wins in 18 starts, earnings of $81,432 and is coming off a Nov. 12 optional claiming win.

Bold Daughter is by Bold Chieftain, is out of the Bertrando mare Pali Girl, was bred by Mike O’Farrell, is owned by Paul Lininger and is trained by Roger Hansen. She has five wins in 18 starts, earnings of $82,098 and is coming off a win in a Nov. 26 starter optional claimer.

Callhercontessa is by Acclamation, out of the Cyclotron mare Eden Mirelle, was bred by owners Ron and Courtney Rand and is trained by Andy Mathis. She has four wins in nine starts, earnings of $137,672 and is coming off a win in a Nov. 4 optional claimer.
