Cal-bred Trio in Mizdirection

ARCADIA, Calif. (May 22, 2014) — Back-to-back stakes winner Tribal Spy and fellow California-breds Qiaona and Top Kisser are entered in Sunday’s $75,000 Mizdirection Stakes for fillies and mares at Santa Anita.

Tribal Spy is by Tribal Rule, out of the Victory Gallop mare Victory Spy, was bred by Gary Barber, is owned by Triple B Farms and trained by Adam Kitchingman. She has six wins in 15 starts, earnings of $298,610 and is coming off consecutive stakes wins.

Qiaona is by Wilko, out of the Skywalker mare Starlet Sky, was bred by B & B Zietz Stables, is owned by Curt and Lila Lanning and trained by Ed Moger Jr. She has four wins in 17 starts, earnings of $446,244 and is making her first start since a fourth in the Nov. 17 Cat’s Cradle.

Top Kisser is by Old Topper, out of the Cherokee Run mare Cherokee Kiss, was bred by owner Tommy Town Thoroughbreds and trained by Jerry Hollendorfer. She has five wins in nine starts, earnings of $265,550 and is coming off a win in the Apr. 26 Spring Fever.

Also entered is Ciao Bella Luna, a Kentucky-bred daughter of California stallion Tribal Rule, with four wins in 14 starts and earnings of $284,110.
