LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 9, 2023) – Grade I-placed California-bred California Kook sold for $170,000 as a racing or broodmare prospect at Monday’s opening Session of the Keeneland January Sale.
California Kook is a 6-year-old by Boisterous, out of the Comic Strip mare Kukaluka, was bred by Wachtel Stable & Gary Barber, consigned by Bluewater Sales, agent, and was purchased by Nicoma, agent for JLM Estates.
California Kook has four wins and earnings of $323,681. She was second in the Del Mar Oaks. She’s a full sister to stakes winner Kookie Gal.
