Cat Burglar to Stand at Barton

From Barton Thoroughbreds

SANTA YNEZ, Calif. (Apr. 20, 2018) —Cat Burglar has been retired sound from racing and will enter stud for the 2018 season at Barton Thoroughbreds for $2,500 live foal stands and nurses.

The multiple graded stakes placed son of Unbridled’s Song has lifetime earnings of $538,720, including winning the Santana Mile Stakes at Santa Anita in 2016 for owner Michael Lund Petersen and trainer Bob Baffert.

“He has perfect conformation and a great pedigree. Cat Burglar was able to sprint or run a mile and a half with the best company,” said Baffert.

Cat Burglar is out of the unraced Be My Prospect (by Forest Wildcat), a half-sister to stakes-winning sprinter Away (the dam of Grade 2 winner and Kentucky Derby runner-up Eight Belles) and stakes-winning turf performer Rich Find.

Barton Thoroughbreds is pleased to add a stallion to their roster with this caliber of pedigree and looks forward to supporting him with mares.  Cat Burglar is available for inspection at the farm in Santa Ynez, California.
