Cavonnier Draws Five Cal-breds

SANTA ROSA, Calif. (Aug. 8, 2014) – Debut winners Colorado Strong and Truly Quick lead five California-breds among the entries for Sunday’s $50,000 Cavonnier Juvenile Stakes for 2-year-olds at Santa Rosa.

Colorado Strong is by Lucky Pulpit, out of the Wild Wonder mare Wild Reflection, was bred by Woodbridge Farm, is owned by CTR Stables and is trained by Scott Rollins. He won his lone start with earnings of $25,200.

Lucky Fame is by Lucky J. H., out of the Western Fame mare Sierra Fame, was bred by George and Clare Schmitt, is owned by Richard Meister and George and Clare Schmitt and is trained by Jeff Bonde. He has one win in two starts, earnings of $16,900 and is coming off a third in the July 6 Everett Nevin.

Truly Quick is by Yes It’s True, out of the Golden Missle mare Quick Emotions, was bred by owners George Schmitt and Philip Lebherz and is trained by Jeff Bonde. He won his lone start July 31 and has earnings of $15,650.

Naomi’s Gift is by Taskmaster, out of the Texas Glitter mare Next Girl, was bred by Stuart Tsujimoto and is trained by Molly Pearson. He has one win in four starts, earnings of $15,263 and is coming off a July 11 maiden win.

Mahorney is by Roi Charmant, out of the Candi’s Gold mare Marty’s Zee, was bred by owner Martin Bach and is trained by William Morey. He has one win in three starts, earnings of $27,195 and is coming off a sixth in the July 6 Everett Nevin.
