SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Apr. 23, 2020) — The California Horse Racing Board (CHRB or Board) has partially suspended fingerprinting requirements for temporary occupational licenses pursuant to its authority under CHRB Rule 1406.

Effective immediately, the CHRB’s partial suspension of CHRB Rule 1488, Temporary Occupational License, extends from 45 calendar days to 120 calendar days the window in which those with a temporary occupation license must comply with fingerprinting requirements. This extension is necessary due to the current closure of CHRB licensing offices due to the State’s efforts to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. The partial suspension of Rule 1488 will end 60 days after the CHRB licensing offices reopen to the public.

As a reminder, the CHRB is not processing in-person license applications and/or renewals during this closure of CHRB licensing offices. Renewals may be done via email, mail, or phone. Call one of the numbers below for details:

Expired licenses should not be accepted at any CHRB regulated facility. It is the licensee’s responsibility to ensure his or her license is renewed prior to the expiration date.
