SANDOWN, Great Britain (Apr. 29, 2015) — California-bred Horse of the Year California Chrome (Lucky Pulpit) is one of 69 entered for the G1 Coral-Eclipse Stakes, a 10-furlong contest at Sandown July 4.
The Art Sherman-trained 4-year-old has been stabled in Newmarket since finishing second in the G1 Dubai World Cup Mar. 28, and is preparing for a tilt at the G1 Prince of Wales=s S. at Royal Ascot.
G1 Tenno Sho victor Spielberg (Jpn) (Deep Impact {Jpn}) also holds an entry, as do Cirrus des Aigles (Fr) (Even Top {Ire}) and Criterion (Aus) (Sebring {Aus}).
The Eclipse offers 3-year-olds the first chance to take on older horses at the highest level, and the 35 entries from the Classic generation include Moheet (Ire) (High Chaparral {Ire}) and Jack Hobbs (GB) (Halling).
