AUBURN, Wash. (June 15, 2023) – Stakes winner Clovisconnection and fellow California-bred Royal Halo are entered in Sunday’s $50,000 Auburn Stakes for 3-year-old colts and geldings at Emerald Downs.
Clovisconnection is by Vronsky, out of the Perfect Mandate mare La Darling, was bred by owners William and Judy Hedrick and is trained by Blaine Wright. He has three wins in six starts, earnings of $106,380 and is coming off a second in the Apr. 30 Silky Sullivan.
Royal Halo is by Curlin to Mischief, out of the Good Reward mare Sunpenny, was bred by Z Thoroughbred Racing, is owned by Steven Zerda and trained by Frank Lucarelli. He has two wins in seven starts, earnings of $80,460 and is coming off a May 27 allowance win.
