AUBURN, Wash. (June 22, 2023) – Multiple stakes winner Daffodil Sweet and fellow California-bred Cause She’s a Lady are entered in Sunday’s $50,000 Hastings Stakes for fillies and mares at Emerald Downs.
Daffodil Sweet is by Ministers Wild Cat, out of the Lion Heart mare Easy on My Heart, was bred by Michael Terry, is owned by One Horse Will Do Corp. and is trained by Marshall Allen. She has nine wins in 17 starts, earnings of $183,171 and is making her first start since finishing third in this race a year ago. She also was seventh in this race in 2021.
Cause She’s a Lady is by Creative Cause, out of the Warrior’s Reward mare Warriorcmoutoplay, was bred by Thomas Bachman, is owned by Quest Racing and trained by Blaine Wright. She has three wins in 10 starts, earnings of $77,610 and is coming off a second in a May 27 optional claimer.
