Desert Law Seeks Repeat in Return

ARCADIA, Calif. (June 11, 2020) – Defending champion Desert Law returns from an 11-month layoff in Saturday’s $100,000 Thor’s Echo Handicap for Golden State Series eligible at Santa Anita.

Desert Law is by Desert Code, out of the Lemon Drop Kid mare Treasure Chest, was bred by owner Harris Farms and is trained by Carla Gaines. He has five wins in 16 starts, earnings of $319,707 and is making his first start since a second in the July 27 Bing Crosby. He won this race last year.

Tiger Dad is by Smiling Tiger, out of the Unusual Heat mare Q T Shea, was bred by owners Devereaux or Gross and is trained by Carla Gaines. He has three wins in 14 starts, earnings of $216,661 and is coming off a second in a May 17 optional claimer.

Stakes-winning Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Oliver is by Papa Clem, out of the Premiership mare Snobby Princess, was bred by Thomas Bachman, is owned by William Peeples and is trained by Doug O’Neill. The $30,000 purchase at the Northern California Yearling Sale has four wins in 21 starts, earnings of $303,352 and is coming off an eighth in the June 6 Crystal Water.

Loud Mouth is by Boisterous, out of the Tale of the Cat mare Drama Cat, was bred by Tommy Town Thoroughbreds, is owned by Thomsen Racing and trained by Steve Knapp. He has four wins in 15 starts, earnings of $127,348 and is coming off a third in a May 17 optional claimer.

Principe Carlo is by Coil, out of the Rahy mare Princess Ezra, was bred by Richard Barton Ent., is owned by Randy Marriott and trained by Ryan Hanson. He has six wins in 16 starts, earnings of $262,623 and is coming off a consecutive optional claiming wins.
