Desert Steel Enters Daisycutter

DEL MAR, Calif. (July 30, 2018) – Desert Steel is the lone California-bred entered in Friday’s $75,000 Daisycutter Handicap for fillies and mares at Del Mar.

Desert Steel is by Desert Code, out of the Cozzene mare Lujien Lujien, was bred by Harris Farms, is owned by Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners, Bamford or House and is trained by Simon Callaghan.

She has five wins in 22 starts, earnings of $360,609 and is coming off a fourth in the May 19 Fran’s Valentine. She was sixth in this race in 2016.
