NEW ORLEANS, La. (Dec. 17, 2021) — Grinning Tiger is entered in The $75,000 Richard R. Scherer Memorial Stakes at Fair Grounds on Dec. 26.. Grinning Tiger is a registered stakes-winning California-sired son of Smiling Tiger.
Grinning Tiger is a 6-year-old gelding out of the Pioneering mare Karlee’s Kitten, was bred by Patrick Cosgrove, is owned by Tyree Wolesensky and is trained by Steve Asmussen.
He has nine wins in 33 starts, earnings of $261,231 and is coming off a win in a Sept. 25 optional claimer. Fair Grounds will be the ninth track at which Grinning Tiger has run.
