Harlington’s Rose Back for Santa Monica

ARCADIA, Calif. (Jan. 16, 2015) – Stakes winner Harlington’s Rose and fellow California-breds Dancinthenightaway and  Sweet Marini are entered in Monday’s $200,000 Grade II Santa Monica Stakes for fillies and mares at Santa Anita.

Harlington’s Rose is by Harlington, out of the Orientate mare A Rose for You, was bred by Y-Lo Racing Stables, is owned by Thomas Halasz, Ryan Johnson, Paul Newhart, Martha Miller, et al and is trained by Steve Knapp. She has three wins in 18 starts, earnings of $277,680 and is coming off a win in the Dec. 28 Kalookan Queen.

Dancinthenightaway is by Indian Charlie, out of the General Meeting mare Last Dance for Me, was bred by owners Al and Saundra Kirkwood and is trained by Mark Glatt. She is unbeaten in four starts with earnings of $123,720 and is coming off a win in a Dec. 27 optional claimer.

Sweet Marini is by Marino Marini, out of the In Excess mare Excessing, was bred by BMWZ Stables, is owned by Kaleem Shaw and is trained by Bob Baffert. She has five wins in 12 starts, earnings of $371,418 and is coming off consecutive optional claiming wins.
