How Unusual Aims for Santa Ana

ARCADIA, Calif. (Mar. 15, 2018) – Graded winner How Unusual and fellow California-bred Lucy De are entered in Sunday’s $200,000 Grade II Santa Ana Stakes for fillies and mares at Santa Anita.

Lucy De is by Decarchy, out of the Native Storm mare Stormin Lucy, was bred by GGG Stables and Magali Farms, is owned by GGG Stables and is trained by Richard Baltas. She has four wins in 18 starts, earnings of $231,443 and is coming off a win in a Feb. 11 optional claimer.

How Unusual is by Unusual Heat, out of the Bartok mare Veela, was bred by Madeline Auerbach & Barry Abrams, is owned by Fetkin, Sill or St. Hillaire, et al, and is trained by Michael Pender. She has five wins in 21 starts, earnings of $311,712 and is coming off a fourth in the Jan. 27 Sunshine Millions Filly & Mare Turf Sprint.
