How Unusual Seeks Astra Stakes

ARCADIA, Calif. (Jan. 11, 2018) – Stakes winner How Unusual and fellow California-bred Lucy De are entered in Sunday’s $75,000 Astra Stakes for fillies and mares at Santa Anita.

Lucy De is by Decarchy, out of the Native Storm mare Stormin Lucy, was bred by Magali Farms and owner GGG Stables and is trained by Richard Baltas. She has three wins in 16 starts, earnings of $174,143 and is coming off a win in an Oct. 27 optional claimer.

How Unusual is by Unusual Heat, out of the Bartok mare Veela, was bred by Madeline Auerbach & Barry Abrams, is owned by Fetkin, Sill or St. Hillaire, et al and is trained by Michael Pender. She has five wins in 19 starts, earnings of $302,367 and is coming off a win in the Nov. 23 Red Carpet.
