DEL MAR, Calif. (Aug. 30, 2013) – Three California-breds that tangled in the Graduation Stakes are among the entries for Monday’s $150,000 I’m Smokin Stakes for Golden State Series eligible 2-year-olds at Del Mar.

Gangnam Guy is by Roi Charmant, out of the Unusual Heat mare The Toast of Troy, was bred by B&B Zietz Stables, is owned by Richard Barton and trained by Mike Machowsky. He has one win in four starts, earnings of $59,840 and is coming off a third in the July 31 Graduation.

Solid Wager is by Birdonthewire, out of the Valid Wager mare G Ma, was bred by Madera Thoroughbreds, is owned by Gary and Cecil Barber and Stanford Stables and is trained by Peter Miller. He has one win in four starts, earnings of $43,000 and is coming off a fifth in the July 31 Graduation.

Ashleyluvssugar is by Game Plan, out of the Urgent Request mare Ashley’s Folly, was bred by owners Estate of Alesia, BranJam Stables and Ciaglia Racing and is trained by Peter Eurton. He won his lone start Aug. 7 and has earnings of $45,000.

Better Bet is by Southern Image, out of the Swiss Yodeler mare Short Sentence, was bred by Revocable Trust of Dr. Mikel Harrington and Patricia Harrington, is owned by Mike Harrington Trustee and is trained by Mike Harrington. He has one win in six starts, earnings of $73,880 and is coming off a fourth in the July 31 Graduation.

Mondai Mondai is by Papa Clem, out of the Unusual Heat mare Mama Rosa, was bred by Madeline Auerbach and Barry Abrams, is owned by Glen Road Racing, Seamist Racing, C. Jaurequi and C. Aotearoa is by Good Journey, out of the Lil Tyler mare Madera Royal, was bred by owner Paul Viskovich and is trained by Leonard Powell. He won his lone start Aug. 4 and has earnings of $45,000.

Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Jedi Mind Trick is by Don’tsellmeshort, out of the Ice Age mare Icy n’Elegant , was bred by Running Luck Ranch, is owned by Doubledown Stable and trained by John Sadler. He has two wins in three starts, earnings of $54,328 and is coming off an Aug. 15 starter optional claiming win.

Easy Topper is by Old Topper, out of the Gulch mare Big Easy, was bred by owner Tommy Town Thoroughbreds and is trained by Steven Miyadi. He is coming off a maiden win in his second start Aug. 9 with earnings of $20,930.
