DEL MAR, Calif. (Aug. 8, 2018) – California stallion Lakerville was represented by his first winner Wednesday when Lakerball, a graduate of the Northern California Yearling Sale, won the sixth race at Del Mar, a $50,000 maiden claimer for 2-year-old fillies, by 8 ½ lengths.
Lakerball is out of the Capsized mare Category Ten, was bred by Rancho de Los Aviadores, is owned by Bardy Farm, DA Meah Racing and Tom Roberts and is trained by Doug O’Neill.
Lakerball ran the 5 ½ furlongs in 1:06.98 and went off at odds of 5-2.
