DEL MAR, Calif. (Aug. 19, 2021) – Multiple stakes winner Lieutenant Dan and fellow stakes winner Give Me the Lute are the California-breds entered in Sunday’s $100,000 Grade III Green Flash Handicap at Del Mar.
Lieutenant Dan is by Grazen, out of the Indian Charlie mare Excusable, was bred by owner Nick Alexander and is trained by Steve Miyadi. He has six wins in 14 starts, earnings of $483,740 and is coming off a July 23 optional claiming win.
Give Me the Lute is by Boisterous, out of the Midnight Lute mare Steal the Lute, was bred by Gary Barber, is owned by Hogan or Hogan and is trained by Andy Mathis. He has five wins in 13 starts, earnings of $189,323 and is coming off a win in the June 12 Albany.
