Luscious Lonna in Miss America

ALBANY, Calif. (Oct. 15, 2014) – Multiple stakes winner Luscious Lonna is among five California-breds entered in Saturday’s $50,000 Miss America Stakes for fillies and mares at Golden Gate.

Loveintheshadows is by Freespool, out of the Touch Gold mare Risk the Gold, was bred by Desperado Stables, is owned by Chris Carpenter and Donald Nunes and is trained by Bill McLean. She has 11 wins in 44 starts, earnings of $192,166 and is coming off a sixth in an Oct. 9 optional claimer.

Wink and Wish is by Tribal Rule, out of the Cozzene mare Amapola’s Wish, was bred by Richard Bell, is owned by Richard and Michael Tannyhill and Gregory Weeks and trained by Debbie Winick. She has five wins in 18 starts, earnings of $101,030 and is coming off consecutive claiming wins.

Central Heat is by Unusual Heat, out of the Smart Strike mare Miss Boomtown, was bred by Abrams, Huston Racing, Matties Racing and Auerbach, is owned by Dave Del Debbio, William Delia and Dana Rocheford and is trained by Delia. She has eight wins in 26 starts, earnings of $162,411 and is coming off consecutive optional claiming wins.

Runfasterelse is by Unusual Heat, out of the National Assembly mare Come to Light, was bred by Run for the Roses, is owned by Rancho San Miguel and Mike Adams and is trained by Aggie Ordonez. She has seven wins in 21 starts, earnings of $164,871 and is coming off a sixth in a Sept. 28 optional claimer.

Luscious Lonna is by Benchmark, out of the Thunder Gulch mare Striking Point, was bred by Nick Alexander, is owned by Jon Harris, Bonnie Marshall and Nicholas Sloan and is trained by Sloan. She has eight wins in 20 starts, earnings of $231,765 and is coming off a third in a Sept. 11 allowance.
