Miss Sunset Rides the C.E.R.F.

DEL MAR, Calif. (Sept. 3, 2017) – California-bred stakes winners Miss Sunset, Bad Ju Ju and Cuddle Alert are among the entries in Monday’s $75,000 C.E.R.F. Stakes for fillies and mares at Del Mar.

Vai is by Tapizar, out of the Doneraile Court mare North Cork, was bred by Richard Barton Enterprises, is owned by Freeman, Freeman or Strauss and is trained by Mark Glatt. She has two wins in three starts, earnings of $82,600 and is making her first start since an eighth in the Nov. 4 Golden State Juvenile Fillies.

Miss Sunset is by Into Mischief, out of the Trippi mare Tuscan Sunset, was bred by Premier Thoroughbreds & Alan Klein, is owned by Klein or Lebherz and is trained by Jeff Bonde. She has five wins in nine starts, earnings of $389,430 and is coming off a win in the July 30 Fleet Treat.

Bad Ju Ju is by Desert Code, out of the Snow Ridge mare Ju Ju Baby, was bred by Lo Hi Racing Stable & Dick Barton, is owned by Rockingham Ranch and trained by Peter Miller. She has seven wins in 19 starts, earnings of $321,743 and is coming off a third in the Aug. 4 Daisycutter.

Cuddle Alert is by Bedford Falls, out of the Gilded Time mare Tee Dee, was bred by Carol Lingenfelter, is owned by Saldana or Urbina and is trained by R Saldana. She has seven wins in 26 starts, earnings of $295,093 and is coming off an Aug. 17 optional claiming win.
