Miss Sunset Seeks C.E.R.F. Repeat

DEL MAR, Calif. (Sept. 1, 2018) – Defending champion Miss Sunset is among four California-breds entered in Monday’s $75,000 C.E.R.F. Stakes for fillies and mares at Del Mar.

Dis Smart Cat is by Square Eddie, out of the Menifee  mare Categorize, was bred by Kevin Devinzenci, is owned by ERJ Racing and trainer Doug O’Neill. She has four wins in 22 starts, earnings of $209,662 and is coming off a second in an Aug. 11 claimer.

Miss Sunset is by Into Mischief, out of the Trippi mare Tuscan Sunset, was bred by Premier Thoroughbreds and Alan Klein, is owned by Klein and Philip Lebherz and is trained by Jeff Bonde. She has nine wins in 17 starts, earnings of $818,735 and is coming off a second in the May 27 Desert Stormer. She won this race last year.

Show It N Moe It is by Grace Upon Grace, out of the Ide mare Robotica, was bred by Terry Lovingier, is owned by London, Lovingier and Zondlo and is trained by Gary Sherlock. She has four wins in 14 starts, earnings of $299,184 and is coming off a second in the July 29 Fleet Treat Stakes.

Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Time for Ebby is by Time to Get Even, out of the Touch Gold mare Ebbets Field, was bred by Terry Lovingier, is owned by John Evans and trained by Steve Knapp. The $17,000 purchase at the Northern California Yearling Sale has five wins in 27 starts, earnings of $210,401 and is coming off a fifth in an Aug. 24 optional claimer.
