ARCADIA, Calif. (May 17, 2023) — Nominations for the May 28 Gold Rush card at Santa Anita, races exclusively for California-bred and -sired horses worth nearly $1 million, close this Thursday, May 18.
Included on the card are five stakes:
The $150,000 Snow Chief Stakes for 3-year-olds at 1 1/18 miles on the turf; the $150,000 Melair Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at 1 1/16 miles on dirt; the $100,000 Thor’s Echo Stakes for 3-year-olds and up at six furlongs on dirt; the $100,000 Crystal Water Stakes for 3-year-olds and up at one mile on turf and the $100,000 Fran’s Valentine Stakes for fillies and mares 3-years-old and up at one mile on turf.
Also scheduled to be run are two maiden special weight races and two allowance optional claimers.
