NorCal Sale Grad in Jess Jackson

SANTA ROSA, Calif. (Aug. 11, 2016) – Northern California Yearling Sale graduate My Friend Emma and fellow California-breds Johnny Reb and Cartoonist are entered in Saturday’s $50,000 Jess Jackson Owners’ Handicap at Santa Rosa.

Johnny Reb is by One Man Army, out of the Unusual Heat mare Unusual Babe, was bred by Crystal Valley Farms, is owned by Irminger, Stephenson or Walker and is trained by Michael Lenzini. He has nine wins in 25 starts, earnings of $93,907 and is coming off a July 29 optional claiming win.

My Friend Emma is by Tannersmyman, out of the Artax mare Ma Ka Bet, was bred by Jim Eaton, is owned by Rosa Camacho or Gerardo Robles and is trained by Monty Meier. The $1,000 purchase at the Northern California Yearling Sale has four wins in 11 starts, earnings of $112,571 and is coming off a July 30 optional claiming win.

Cartoonist is by Comic Strip, out of the Devil On Ice mare Ivy Lane, was bred by Dr. and Mrs. William Gray, is owned by Scott Herbertson and is trained by Jonathan Wong. He has five wins in 15 starts, earnings of $127,720 and is coming off a second in the July 4 Oak Tree Sprint.
