PHOENIX, Ariz. (Feb. 3, 2020) – Northern California Yearling Sale graduate and defending champion Minister of Soul, and fellow California-breds Royal Trump and League of Shadows, are entered in Saturday’s $75,000 Phoenix Gold Cup Handicap at Turf Paradise.
Royal Trump is by Ministers Wild Cat, out of the Woodman mare Royal Woodman, was bred by Mr. & Mrs. Larry Williams, is owned by Rodney Orr and trained by Mark Glatt. He has six wins in 22 starts, earnings of $219,900 and is coming off a third in a Jan. 10 optional claimer.
Minister of Soul is by Ministers Wild Cat, out of the Bernstein mare Sensitive Soul, was bred by Dahlberg Farms and is owned by trainer Esteban Martinez. He has seven wins in 22 starts, earnings of $188,846 and is coming off a fifth in the Dec. 28 KLAQ Handicap. He won this race last year.
League of Shadows is by Gotham City, out of the Siberian Summer mare Siberian Song, was bred by Daehling Ranch, is owned by George Sharp and trained by Kerri Raven. He has three wins in 14 starts, earnings of $61,672 and is coming off a third in a Dec. 31 optional claimer.
