ALBANY, Calif. (Nov. 18, 2023) – Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Star Racer emerged from a wall of horses at the head of the stretch and pulled away to win Saturday’s $50,000 Oakland Stakes at Golden Gate.
Star Racer is a California-bred by Vronsky, out of the Bold Badgett mare Honey Bee Lucky, was bred by Old English Rancho and Bruce Headley, is owned by Blue Moon Racing & Steven Dietrich and is trained by Angelo Tekos, Jr.
The $10,000 purchase from the Harris Farms consignment at the Northern California Yearling Sale has six wins in 21 starts, earnings of $128,178 and was making his first start since a second in an Apr. 1 allowance.
Star Racer went off at 3-1 in a field of eight.
