SANTA ROSA, Calif. (Aug. 13, 2018) – Northern California Yearling Sale graduate El Chavo Del Ocho won Saturday’s eighth race at Santa Rosa, a maiden special weight race.
El Chavo Del Ocho is by Tannersmyman, out of the Artax mare My Sis Liz, was bred by Joseph Duffel & Woodbridge Farm, is owned by Kevin Lizardi and trained by Jonathan Wong and has one win in five starts with earnings of $38,124.
The $4,000 purchase at the 2016 Northern California Yearling Sale ran the six furlongs in 1:10.83 and won by two lengths at odds of 5-2 in a field of nine.
