PHOENIX, Ariz. (Feb. 9, 2019) – Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Minister of Soul drew clear for a 3 ¼-length win in Saturday’s $75,000 Phoenix Gold Cup at Turf Paradise.
The 5-year-old gelding is by Ministers Wild Cat, out of the Bernstein mare Sensitive Soul, was bred by Dahlberg Farms and is owned by trainer Esteban Martinez.
The $16,000 purchase at the Northern California Yearling Sale has six wins in 11 starts, earnings of $128,203 and was coming off a win in the Jan. 19 Hank Mills Sr. Stakes.
He ran the six furlongs in 1:08.41 and went off as the 9-5 second choice.
